Education plays a vital role in providing opportunities to students to acquire knowledge and understanding and to develop social and vocational skills. At SCAO we aim to provide an education that creates independent, creative and confident thinkers who are capable of engaging with their community and the wider world. In order for us to achieve this, the Khmer assistant teachers in SCAO II undertook a training session under the guidance of the Education Officer.
The training session outlined some key classroom techniques and tips to create a positive learning environment for all involved, from students to both teachers and assistant teachers. The training was really well received by the assistant teachers and opened up dialogue in terms of assistant teachers putting forward their own ideas for some improvements in the school. We were delighted to present the assistant teachers with certificates of participation recently and we have schedule a training session for the assistant teachers in SCAO I in the near future.
