Anna’s Review

Hey people,

last year I’ve been weltwärts-headvolunteer at SCAO II and since August I am back in Germany.
I definitely enjoyed my time in Som Roung.
My year abroad was a very interesting experience even though we had a lot of ups and downs.
However I think I enjoyed all the good things and learned a lot even out of most of the bad experiences.
Teaching at the preschool was what I liked most because it was great to see the children develop socially and educationally. That’s probably why I miss the kids so much especially the really young ones. I hope to have the chance to go back in the holidays in summer and see them again. On the other hand I was really happy to go back to Germany. I love my university and one year in Cambodia was definitely enough adventure for me. So all in all I can say it was very nice and I can recommend voluntary years and other stuff like that. There is a lot to try and find out all over the world, great people you can meet, important abilities to achieve and beautiful places to visit. Although I was so happy to go back to Germany, the year made me even more excited for travelling and living in other countries but so far I’d prefer to stay in Europe in the next years.
