2nd Hairdressing Class Exam

The second Hairdressing classes started on the 8th of August, 2013 with 25 students. The number of students attending the class fell a little because of other commitments that the students had. These commitments included working the family farm and working to help generate more income for the family household. A small drop in the number of students is predictable especially with such a large class.

hair2Currently there are 17 students involved in the hairdressing class every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The vast majorities has really improved their skills and are really good at the many different tasks involved in hairdressing. They know a lot about making up and doing hairstyle in Khmer traditional way, now that they have finished the course and have taken the final hairdressing exam on the 29th of March, 2014.

The exam started at 13:00 and finished at 15:00 for the first group and the next group started at 15:10 to 17:10. Each student had 1 hour to finish the exam and they can choose their partner to complete and make up, hairstyle on each other. It was an opportunity for them to show their skills and the knowledge gained over past few months. The exam went very well and students completed their exam in the allowed time. It was great to see them all doing very well in the exam!

hair3Hairdressing teacher stated that the all students are excellent in doing the traditional Khmer make-up and hairstyle. Some students can also work with the teacher at her own shop, to further develop their skills and earn an invaluable income for their household. Students have now the ability to start working on their own or find employment as assistants in a salon. It is really good that students have the opportunity to use the skills that they have learned from the class.

Each of the students that have passed the exam will be receiving a certificate of completion, at a ceremony in SCAO School II in the near future.
