I am one of the DRK volunteers staying here for one year. At the second school we work and live in the beautiful village of Som Roung. In comparison to the area around SCAO 1 Som Roung is in general less developed and further apart from PP. Moreover, we teach more basic English and have quite young students.
We live in the school with the household of Sovanred. There are four Khmer Teacher teaching English and Computer classes. The staff are nice and I am happy to work with them. In my free time I go to the coffee shop with the other volunteers. We usually get some waffles on the way and have a chat with each other or the owner, a really nice guy with a lovely family and as a cold ice coffee is probably the best thing that could happen to you when it has about 37C. I am having a great time here.
